Terminology

Composition:
The term composition means 'putting together', and can apply to any work of art, from music to writing, that is arranged or put together using conscious thought. In the visual arts, composition is often used interchangeably with various terms such as design, form, visual ordering, or formal structure, depending on the context.

Editing:
This is the process of selecting and preparing language, images, sound, video, or film through processes of correction, condensation, organization, and other modifications in various media.

Sound:
Common elements of sound are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture.

  1. OK Alex. You would benefit from adding definitions for the specific terms within each of the sections you've defined above, e.g. diegetic sound.
